I have been a photographer for 20 years. My first passion in photography was landscapes where I sought inspiration from acclaimed photographer Ansel Adams. I made many trips to Yosemite National Park with my 35mm SLR in the late 90’s to capture the breathtaking mountains, rivers, and valleys. As I got older and my skills progressed I began to have an interest in portrait photography. At age 21 I was offered a modeling contract which led to many other opportunities in the world of fashion and advertising. I was represented by Ford Models-SF/Ford Models-LA/Elite models-Miami and did work for clients such as Banana Republic, Armani Exchange, Levi's, Macy's and many other major companies. I found myself immersed in the high end of portrait photography looking down the barrel of the lens. I was exposed to the most creative minds in the business, the best gear money could buy, and I learned the process of how to successfully manage and complete a major photo shoot. I took the techniques that I learned from the many professionals I worked with along with my background that is influenced by the natural beauty of the outdoors and cultivated them into my own unique style. After years of test shooting and perfecting my skills I opened the doors to Jon-Paul Bruno Photography in 2006. Photographing people is the ultimate challenge and I pride myself in making a subject look the best they ever have. That is what I strive for in every shoot. Nashville TN is where I call home these days and have enjoyed shooting many country artists in various southern sceneries, but I am still available to travel anywhere around the Globe.
